Licenses, application pathways and examination requirements

Each license and applicant pathway has its own requirements and exemptions. Choosing practice questions does not determine your eligibility.

Insurance Producer License

Individual insurance producer authorization for Property, Casualty, or both major lines under SDCL 58-30-152(3) and (4); resident and nonresident applicant pathways are recorded separately. Personal lines, crop, credit, rental car, and travel are separately designated lines, rather than alternative qualifications for these two major lines. A licensed producer may act as an insurance consultant under SDCL 58-30-144.1 without a separate consultant license.
