Licenses, application pathways and examination requirements

Initial by examination

Conduct: Accept the Salesforce Certification Program Agreement and Code of Conduct at the beginning of the examination.
Date Applicability: Current official certification listing and its exam guide align to SU ’26; no official effective or retirement boundary is published in these materials, so start/end dates remain null.
Language: The English examination is selected; the owner also lists Japanese, French and Spanish.
Online: Check technical requirements, confirm acceptable ID and run the Pearson system test before online-proctored registration.
Onsite: Confirm ID requirements and bring ID whose name matches the booking exactly.
Passing: Meet the published 73% passing score on the certification examination.
Prerequisite: None. Six months to one year of experience is a typical audience description, not a mandatory prerequisite.
Scheduling: Rolling appointments through Trailhead Academy: select the examination, delivery mode, date and time, and complete checkout; testing-center appointments depend on local venue time slots.

Provider: Pearson VUE / Pearson OnVUE
Format: Proctored multiple-choice/multiple-select examination, onsite at a testing center or online; no hard-copy or online reference materials.
Exam questions: Total questions: 60–65; Scored questions: 60; Unscored questions: 0–5; The total includes the scored and unscored questions.
Time limit: 105 minutes
Passing score: 73%
Exam fee: Initial registration USD 200 plus applicable local taxes; retake USD 100 plus applicable local taxes.
