Applicability
Current official ISTQB and ASTQB adoption supports evaluationDate 2026-10-25. English v3.1 sunset was May 16, 2026. Official route and credential start dates and future end dates are unpublished in the adopted evidence and are null, rather than inferred from syllabus release or retrieval dates.
Assessment
Pass the independently assessed English CTAL-TA v4.0 examination, with 51 of 78 points required. Other Advanced Level subjects belong to a combined Advanced Level title, not this single-direction certification.
Eligibility
Hold the ISTQB Certified Tester Foundation Level certificate before taking CTAL-TA; v4.0 is preferred but a previous Foundation Level version is accepted. ASTQB specifies sufficient practical experience of three years. This is prior certificate possession, not an instruction to retake or reproduce the prerequisite examination.
Scheduling
Purchase an AT*SQA exam voucher, then choose an available online or test-center date/time through the candidate account and take the examination within 365 days of voucher purchase. This is rolling appointment scheduling, not a fixed application deadline. Applicable non-native-language extension is 25%.
Training
Accredited training is recommended; self-study is permitted and training attendance is not a mandatory qualification condition.
