Licenses, application pathways and examination requirements

Each license and applicant pathway has its own requirements and exemptions. Choosing practice questions does not determine your eligibility.

CyberSec First Responder®

Vendor-neutral cybersecurity certification in threat detection, incident response, and defensive cybersecurity knowledge.

Licensing authority: CertNexus · Application information

Initial by examination
Applicability
The current CertNexus CFR page identifies CFR-410, sunset TBD, and directly links the submitted version 1.10 blueprint. Exact official effective dates for credential, route, claims and examination version are not published here and remain null; document issue/modification dates and the month-only launch date are not substituted. Only the initial qualification route is registered.
Delivery Exclusions
The linked handbook prohibits residents of Iran, North Korea, Syria and Sudan from taking a CertNexus test or becoming certified; this task covers the US.
Eligibility
No application fee, supporting documentation or other eligibility verification measures for CFR exam eligibility; no formal prerequisites to register and schedule. This is not a claim that the examination voucher is free. Training is not required, and readiness assessment and training resources are preparatory options rather than additional certification examinations.
Qualification
Pass the associated CFR-410 examination and comply with the CertNexus Candidate Agreement; agreement acceptance is required to launch the exam.
Recommended Experience
Experience and knowledge descriptions are target-candidate recommendations, not eligibility thresholds. The current page describes approximately three to five years and the adopted blueprint describes two to five years; neither overrides the blueprint's express absence of formal prerequisites.
Registration
Obtain a voucher through training, CertNexus or Pearson VUE, or schedule and pay through the Pearson account workflow. Appointments may be made in advance or on the desired day, subject to availability; delivery is at Pearson VUE test centers or online through Pearson OnVUE. Voucher and all attempts expire 18 months after purchase unless otherwise noted. Candidates generally need registration confirmation and government-issued identification, with delivery-specific rules to be checked with the testing center.
