Certified Tester Advanced Level Test Management

An internationally recognized test management certification, valid for life, offered through ASTQB and AT*SQA.

Licensing authority: ASTQB & AT*SQA · Application information

Initial by examination
Appointment
Purchase an AT*SQA voucher and schedule the chosen examination through the AT*SQA account; the code works for a testing center or online proctored examination and must be used within 365 days, with no extension.
Certification
Pass the CTAL-TM v3.0 examination; the current structure table specifies at least 58 of 88 points. The certificate is valid for life and does not require renewal.
Dates
No official starting date for this US credential or this route was established; null boundaries are deliberate and the current adopted materials support the fixed evaluation date. The English 2012 examination sunset is recorded only to distinguish the current version, without reconstructing the old examination.
Language And Accommodations
The English examination is 120 minutes, or 150 minutes with the permitted 25% non-native-language extension; choose the EXT option when applicable. Special accommodations must be requested at least one month in advance.
Online Scheduling
Online appointments are available throughout the week, 24 hours a day. Before scheduling the actual exam, complete the System Readiness Check, typically at least three days before the exam. A personal computer with full administrative access, Chrome with extensions deactivated, a single monitor, phone camera and matching government ID are required; work computers cannot be used.
Practical Experience
For this ASTQB US route, sufficient practical experience of three years is required. ISTQB's current certification page delegates the specific experience criterion to the member board or exam provider. The syllabus's six-month background recommendation does not replace that US requirement.
Preparation
Accredited training is recommended; self-study using the syllabus and recommended reading is also an official preparation option.
Prerequisite Qualification
Hold the ISTQB Foundation Level certificate before sitting the Advanced Level Test Management examination; the current ISTQB page accepts v4.0 or previous Foundation Level certificate versions. This is an existing qualification prerequisite, not a newly introduced Foundation examination leaf or production target.
Rescheduling
Reschedule online exams more than 24 hours in advance, and testing-center exams more than 72 hours in advance. Rescheduling within the fee window incurs USD 90. Cancellation alone does not issue a refund; refund requests must be made by email within 30 days of purchase.
Testing Center Scheduling
Choose an available center, date and time through the AT*SQA account; centers are generally available Monday-Friday depending on location, and are not available in all locations.
