Initial by examination
- Applicability
- The current CCQM page links the Body of Knowledge explicitly marked Effective February 2025 and publishes the selected December 2026 window. No precise official start day or end date for the credential, route or current examination version is supplied; those fields remain null.
- Application
- Submit application and required documents/payment, obtain ASQ/ASQE approval and eligibility instructions, and schedule the selected window with Prometric. Agree to the ASQE Testing Agreement and ASQ Code of Ethics. These are applicant conditions, not additional examinations.
- Education Waivers
- Only one education waiver applies to the eight-year requirement: technical/trade diploma one year; associate degree two years; bachelor's degree four years; master's or doctorate five years. Institution accreditation must be accepted by ASQ; foreign credentials must be equivalent to US educational credentials. The three-year decision-making requirement remains stated independently.
- Experience
- Eight years of on-the-job experience in one or more CCQM Body of Knowledge areas, including at least three years in a decision-making position. Full-time paid work is required; up to one year may be an internship or apprenticeship. Decision-making means authority to define, execute or control projects/processes and responsibility for outcomes; supervision is not necessary.
- Selected Testing Window
- 2026-12-01 through 2026-12-31; application deadline 2026-11-09. These scheduling dates do not define credential, route or examination-version effective boundaries.
