A.R.S. 32-2153(F)(2), provisional license definition
Provisional license — Out of state recognition for relocating military spouse
- Application
- Submit the signed application and applicable fees, subject to an available first-license fee waiver.
- Board waiver process
- The Board's How to Obtain a License page instructs a qualifying spouse seeking the examination waiver to contact its Licensing Division through the Message Center.
- Contract writing
- Complete six hours of Arizona contract law and contract writing; the Board requires a certificate completed within two years of application.
- Criminal history
- No disqualifying criminal history as determined under A.R.S. 41-1093.04.
- Discipline
- No revocation or voluntary surrender while under investigation; unresolved discipline or a pending professional-conduct complaint, allegation or investigation suspends the recognition application.
- Disclosures
- Submit the disciplinary action disclosure and supporting documents for affirmative answers; license issuance remains subject to the commissioner's statutory fitness review.
- Equivalent license
- Hold a current equivalent real estate license in another state, with at least one year of licensure and good standing.
- Examination relationship
- The state examination remains referenced because A.R.S. 32-2124(N) requires it for licenses issued under 32-4302 while 32-4302(A) grants the spouse waiver. Under this survey contract, same-rank disagreement retains the examination and records the waiver as a condition.

- Prior examination
- Provide evidence of having passed the examination required by the issuing state; another state's examination is an applicant condition.

- Statutory exam waiver
- A.R.S. 32-4302(A) states: A. Notwithstanding any other law, an occupational or professional license or certificate shall be issued, in the discipline applied for and at the same practice level as determined by the regulating entity, pursuant to this title to a person who establishes residence in this state or without an examination to a person who is married to an active duty member of the armed forces of the United States and who is accompanying the member to an official permanent change of station to a military installation located in this state if all of the following apply:
