PCED™ – Certified Entry-Level Data Analyst with Python

An entry-level certification validating foundational Python data collection, cleaning, transformation, analysis, ethics, visualization and communication skills.

Licensing authority: OpenEDG Python Institute

Initial by examination
Accommodations
Special conditions require advance approval by Python Institute.
Assessment
Pass the current PCED-30-02 examination with a cumulative average of at least 75%; preliminary scores become final only after the session passes verification.
Credential Validity
The official PCED information lists seven-year certification validity; no individual holder expiry or original certification-program effective date is inferred.
Eligibility
No formal examination prerequisites; PCEP or equivalent knowledge and mathematics/statistics are recommended, not mandatory prior certifications. Children under 13 cannot test or receive certification; ages 13–17 require parental or legal-guardian consent; adults have no age-related restriction. Additional local data-protection restrictions may apply.
Historical Boundary
PCED-30-01 is explicitly discontinued and retired July 14, 2025, with redemption of already-issued vouchers preserved in the current notice. That limited existing-voucher concession is retained as a condition and is outside this task's non-historical current-version production scope; it does not require inventing a new live version or investigating the retired outline.
Retakes
A failed PCED attempt has a seven-day waiting period; a new voucher may be needed, and failed-exam retakes are not numerically limited.
Scheduling
The global TestNow mode is on demand, with no advance scheduling required and same-day registration/testing available. A Test Candidate account, valid voucher, equipment diagnostics, check-in, Code of Conduct agreement, NDA and Testing Policies acceptance are required. A local partner session requires proctor authorization, identity verification and the applicable facility appointment; contact the facility at least 24 hours before rescheduling. An unredeemed, unexpired global voucher can be used later without rescheduling.
