- Source Hierarchy
- RCW 48.17.175 expressly applies its relocation examination exemption to insurance producers. RCW 48.17.110(1) requires an adjuster examination except its statutory exemptions. - Trustworthiness
- The individual or responsible officer must be trustworthy and competent; the commissioner may require documents verifying application information.
Renewal of individual public adjuster license
- Application
- Apply on the commissioner's prescribed form and pay the applicable license fee.
- Commissioner Directed Assessment

- Continuing Education
- Residents and nonresidents designating Washington as home state complete 24 approved continuing-education hours, including three ethics hours, within the prior 24 months. Adjuster courses concern property and casualty insurance or claim adjusting. Maintain completion certificates for three years. WAC 284-17-254 permits a documented medical or military continuing-education waiver for the particular continuation period; other nonresidents follow their applicable home-state requirements.
- Minimum Age
- The individual or responsible officer must be at least 18 years old under RCW 48.17.380(3)(a).
