Exam Administration
The NPTE is taken within sixty days of written notice of eligibility; passing is a scaled score of 600 (OAC 435:20-3-5(c)-(d)); after a first failure one retake is allowed within six months, after a second failure the applicant must meet the Committee and reapply, and after a third failure the applicant is not eligible to reapply for examination in Oklahoma (OAC 435:20-3-5(d)(1)-(4)).
Pre Graduation Eligibility
A program director may submit the Pre-Graduation Examination Form during the final semester so the Board can make the applicant eligible to schedule the NPTE; no temporary or regular licence issues until Form #1 Verification of Graduation and a transcript are received (Pre-Graduation Examination Form instructions).
Prior Scores
Examinations taken before March 1993 count as passed if the raw score was within 1.50 standard deviations below the national average (OAC 435:20-3-5(d)).
