Application Period
Handbook p. 18 allows application within 12 months of course completion or self-study/eLearning purchase. A written request and fee can reopen a closed case under applicable changed conditions. This does not define exam-version expiry.
Award
PECB certification department evaluates the application. Passing alone does not award the Lead Auditor certification; experience and all other requirements must be met.
Ethics And References
Sign the PECB Code of Ethics and provide two qualifying professional references, neither subordinates nor relatives.
Examination
Pass the PECB Certified ISO/IEC 27001 Lead Auditor exam or an equivalent accepted by PECB through its equivalence evaluation of recognized accredited certification bodies. This preserves the named live dependency and official equivalent-score condition; no unnamed examination or no_exam branch is invented.
Experience
Five professional years, including two years in information security management; 300 hours of valid audit activities, checked through the audit log.
Online Conditions
Comply with official PECB exam and technical requirements; remote invigilation via PECB Exams app and camera, valid ID and arrival at least 30 minutes early. Late candidates may be denied admission. Non-native language/accommodation time rules remain applicable.
Scheduling
English online appointments depend on published sessions, local/UTC times and seats. New sessions are published bi-weekly; choose another date/session when full. No specific seat in the requested 2026-11-25 to 2027-02-28 horizon is guaranteed or booked.
Scope
Only the requested Lead Auditor award is submitted. Other experience-based scheme awards are contextual; they do not create additional examination identities.
Training
No specific training curriculum is mandatory for this exam. Independent preparation and direct remote examination are allowed; partners can arrange training and the same exam's paper delivery.
Training Package
Partner training includes the first exam attempt, one free retake, certification application and first annual maintenance fee, with a 12-month cycle from instructor-led course completion or self-study/eLearning purchase.
