Initial by examination
Application Window
Apply within 12 months of course completion for instructor-led training, or within 12 months of purchase for self-study/eLearning. After expiry, request reopening in writing to certification.team@pecb.com and pay the required fee; PECB does not guarantee preservation of previous conditions or handbook. This is an individual application window, not an exam retirement date.
Attendance
Arrive at least 30 minutes before the exam and present valid identification; late candidates may be refused. Online sessions are remotely invigilated using the PECB Exams application and a camera; secondary electronic devices are prohibited. The handbook allows 10 additional minutes on request for candidates taking a Foundation exam in a non-native language.
Award
Pass the examination, sign the PECB Code of Ethics, and apply for the certificate; PECB's Certification Department validates the application before issuing the certificate and digital badge.
Experience
No professional, MS audit/assessment or project experience is required; professional references do not apply to Foundation certificates.
Scheduling
English online examination through the PECB Exams application, selected from available sessions after training. Language, date/time and seats depend on the published schedule; sessions are published bi-weekly and full sessions require another date. The requested 2026-11-25 through 2027-02-28 horizon is conditional, not a seat guarantee. Partner-arranged paper delivery is an alternative mode of this same exam, outside the selected online delivery focus; no school-arranged separate examination is established.
Training
Complete the PECB ISO/IEC 42001 Foundation training course before the examination. Available formats listed in the handbook are Classroom, Live Online, eLearning (availability may be limited), and Self-study. The footnote exempts non-ANAB-accredited certificate programs in general; it does not waive this program's express training requisite.
