Level I certification for technicians performing periodic inspections and tests of basic fire alarm systems and preparing related records and reports.

Licensing authority: National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies · Application information

Initial by examination
Applicant Scope
Direct initial ITFAS Level I examination applicants. This route does not assert that applicants eligible for FAS examination credit must sit ITFAS Level I.
Credit Eligibility
Applicants meeting current FAS Level II examination requirements, or certified to that level, may apply for credit toward ITFAS Level I and are not eligible to sit ITFAS Level I. FAS Level III and/or IV examination requirements or certification similarly permit ITFAS Levels I and II credit and preclude sitting those ITFAS exams. Credit and evaluation remain a distinct application process; no FAS examination is investigated or newly produced in this task.
