Licenses, application pathways and examination requirements
Each license and applicant pathway has its own requirements and exemptions. Choosing practice questions does not determine your eligibility.
Certified - Neonatal Pediatric Transport
NCC national subspecialty certification in neonatal pediatric transport, earned through its examination by eligible licensed health care professionals; it carries no licensing authority.
Licensing authority: National Certification Corporation · Application information
Initial by examination
- Applicability
- The current official NPT examination page directly links the 2026 NPT registration catalog and candidate guide and offers this initial examination. No official catalog-wide or version-wide effective start or retirement date is stated in these sources; validFrom and validThrough are therefore null, while checkedAt records the actual verification date.
- Award
- Pass the Neonatal Pediatric Transport examination. Certification is awarded for three years, with the individual effective date on the official passed-score-report letter; that individual date is not a catalog-wide validFrom. Renewal is outside this investigation.
- Eligibility
- At application, hold current, active, unencumbered US or Canadian licensure as a physician, registered nurse, nurse practitioner, respiratory therapist, paramedic, EMT/AEMT or physician assistant, and upload a license or official license verification showing the required identifying and expiration information. This US catalog entry does not expand the investigation to Canadian credentials.
- Emt Alternative
- EMT/AEMT applicants in a state that does not issue a separate state-issued license must instead document National Registry (NREMT) certification. This is an existing professional qualification, not an additional NCC examination leaf.
- Experience
- No practice experience is required; at least two years is recommended. No additional education or other NCC subspecialty examination is listed as an initial eligibility requirement in the current NPT catalog.
- Registration
- Apply online on demand, with no application deadline; NCC reviews eligibility, then issues a personal eligibility letter. The 90-day testing cycle begins when the application is determined eligible, with exact start and end dates in that letter. Schedule within the first 30 days for an appointment within the 90-day window; availability is first-come, first-served. The testing guide specifies at least four business days between booking and a test-center appointment, and two for live remote proctoring. Both delivery methods lead to the same examination result.
