Initial by examination
Applicant Context
The audience profile describes financial functional-consultant knowledge and experience; training and hands-on experience are recommended, not converted here into mandatory course credentials.
Assessment
A proctored, answer-scored examination with a 100-minute time allowance; interactive components may occur. A scaled score of at least 700 is required.
Date Boundaries
The certification's original start date and this current route's formal start/end boundaries are not published in the adopted current materials and remain null; the exam skills version has an explicit August 14, 2026 start. The obsolete two-exam route is not reconstructed.
Eligibility
Registration affirms legal age in the applicant's jurisdiction to enter the agreement. The candidate agreement applies; academic exam candidates additionally acknowledge student/faculty status at an accredited institution.
Fees
Price depends on the country/region where the exam is proctored; no fixed fee is asserted.
Language
The current page lists English and Japanese; this version represents the English skills effective August 14, 2026. Localized versions follow their own update schedule.
Qualification
Pass the current MB-310 examination and comply with the Microsoft Credentials Program Agreement and credential-specific requirements. The current initial certification examination set contains only MB-310.
Registration
Schedule through Pearson VUE from the official certification page using a Learn profile. A personal MSA account is strongly recommended. The profile legal name must match legal ID. Organizational account departure can make exam records unrecoverable.
Retakes
After an initial failure wait 24 hours; wait 14 days between subsequent attempts, with no more than five attempts in 12 months from the first attempt. After five failures, eligibility resumes 12 months from the first attempt. A passed exam cannot be retaken unless the certification has expired. Retake fees apply when applicable. Waiting-period waivers require internet/equipment failure and a Pearson VUE case number, not other reasons.
Scheduling
Rolling appointment booking: no more than two Microsoft Certification exams may be scheduled concurrently through Pearson VUE, and exams may be scheduled no more than 90 days in advance. Online or test-center delivery depends on available provider options; accommodations must be requested before scheduling.
