Initial by examination
- Account And Identity
- A personal Microsoft account is recommended. The legal name on the Learn profile must match legal ID or the candidate cannot take the exam.
- Applicability
- Current official certification page still points to DP-900 and its July 21, 2026 skills. The older owner explanation establishes the earn-by-passing relationship, corroborated by the current page; its old training suggestions do not replace current eligibility. No official credential or route inception date is published in these sources, so those boundaries remain null.
- Audience
- For candidates beginning to work with data in the cloud. Familiarity with DP-900 learning material, relational/non-relational data and transactional/analytical workloads is recommended; the official current page does not frame this familiarity as a separate examination or mandated course completion.
- Award
- Pass DP-900 to earn the certification; this route binds the current English skills measured as of July 21, 2026.
- Delivery
- Online or test-center delivery is generally available, subject to provider availability. Candidates choosing online delivery must run the system pre-check before registration. Accommodation requests should precede scheduling.
- Scheduling
- Rolling appointments through Pearson VUE; Certiport is offered for students or educators. No more than 90 days in advance. At most two Microsoft Certification exams may be scheduled simultaneously through Pearson VUE; the quoted limit does not change Certiport scheduling.
