Information Systems Security Engineering Professional

This security engineering certification recognizes your ability to apply engineering principles and processes to develop secure systems.

Licensing authority: ISC2

Initial by examination
Certification Completion
Pass the ISSEP examination, then submit the certification application after official pass notification and within nine months of the exam; endorsement of experience is required by an ISC2 certified professional in good standing or ISC2 with employment proof, followed by approval and the applicable initial AMF. Candidates must acknowledge ISC2 background eligibility standards and commit to the ISC2 Code of Ethics. Candidates are advised to resolve potential background eligibility problems before scheduling. Passing the examination before obtaining the minimum work experience permits the Associate of ISC2 designation while accumulating experience, up to eight years for ISSEP; it does not itself confer ISSEP certification.

Scheduling
Purchase the exam and schedule an available in-person Pearson appointment through the ISC2 dashboard; identity information must exactly match test-center ID. Standard exam purchase must be scheduled and administered within 365 days; Peace of Mind Protection has two attempts within 180 days subject to the Retake Policy. Retakes require 30 test-free days after the first attempt, 60 after the second and 90 after the third and subsequent attempts, with at most four attempts per certification in twelve months.
Scope
Only the initial ISSEP certification pathway is included; holding CISSP is an alternative applicant qualification, not a new CISSP sitting requirement.
