CLE – C Certified Entry-Level Programmer

Entry-level certification validating foundational C programming knowledge and skills.

Licensing authority: C++ Institute

Initial by examination
Applicability
The current official CLE page explicitly lists CLE-10-01 as Active and aligns its syllabus to that version. No official start or end date is stated; webpage publication/update dates are not treated as credential, route or exam effective dates.
Award
Pass CLE-10-01; cumulative score at least 70%. Successful candidates receive the online credential in their account and by email.
Delivery
CLE-specific channel is TestNow. Default worldwide delivery is OpenEDG Online Proctoring Service; institutional partner proctoring is also available. The broader program-wide Pearson VUE description does not override the CLE-specific channel.
Eligibility
No prerequisite certification or examination. Under 13: cannot test or receive certification; ages 13–17: parental/legal guardian consent; 18+: no age restriction. OpenEDG may impose local data-protection restrictions.
Scheduling
Global online candidates use an account and unexpired unredeemed voucher, complete check-in, and accept the Code of Conduct, NDA and Testing Policies. Global exams need no rescheduling while the voucher is unredeemed and valid. Local partner appointments require proctor authorization, identification and arrival 15 minutes early; rescheduling requests must reach the facility at least 24 hours before the appointment.
