- Notify the Board immediately if a pending national score is failing; the temporary license is deemed revoked.
- Official Transcripts
- The Board forms page requires all official undergraduate and graduate transcripts sent directly from the institutions by mail; applicant-sent or emailed transcripts are not accepted.
- Pending Assessment
- The applicant otherwise meets the regular behavior-analyst requirements and is awaiting the next Board oral examination.
- Practice Scope
- Miss. Code Ann. § 73-75-5 preserves the specified exemptions for other licensed professionals, supervised technicians and trainees, students, nonhuman practice, teaching and research without direct services, organizational services without direct services to individuals, family members, and school employees acting within their school duties. These exemptions do not create additional Board license types.
- Prior Failures
- No temporary license after prior temporary-license revocation, three national-exam failures, or a failed oral jurisprudence examination. Rule 3.6(D) restricts an applicant who took but failed a required examination in another jurisdiction until an approved examination is passed.
- Submission Timing
- Rule 3.2(C)(2) requires the materials at least seven days before the published examination date. The implementing forms page asks for a standard application at least two weeks before the application deadline and notes that a complete late-cycle application does not guarantee an examination place.
- Supervision
- Maintain supervision by a licensed behavior analyst until upgrade; practice under a current corresponding regular licensee, only in Mississippi. A temporary licensee cannot supervise another licensee or technician.
Renewal of a temporary license under section 73 75 17
All of the following:
- Application
- Submit the prescribed signed application, applicable fee, and personal references. Certify that the applicant has not been convicted of a felony under Mississippi law. Submit fingerprints for state and FBI criminal-history checks.
- Conversion
- Apply for full licensure on receipt of national scores; satisfactory completion of the oral examination converts the temporary license to full licensure.
- Current Certification
- Maintain current and active BACB BCBA or BCBA-D certification, verified by the Board. Licensure cannot extend beyond certification expiration.
- Duration
- Six months from issuance; all regular-license requirements must be completed and submitted during the temporary period.
- Education
- Master's degree or equivalent from an institution recognized by the Board.
- Failing Score
- Notify the Board immediately if a pending national score is failing; the temporary license is deemed revoked.
- Official Transcripts
- The Board forms page requires all official undergraduate and graduate transcripts sent directly from the institutions by mail; applicant-sent or emailed transcripts are not accepted.
- Prior Failures
- No temporary license after prior temporary-license revocation, three national-exam failures, or a failed oral jurisprudence examination. Rule 3.6(D) restricts an applicant who took but failed a required examination in another jurisdiction until an approved examination is passed.
- Renewal Authority
- Section 73-75-17 directs the Board to regulate granting and renewal of temporary licenses. Rule 3.6(A) requires completion of all regular requirements within six months from issuance; this route does not establish an extension of that deadline. Board consideration of renewal is subject to those restrictions.
