- For a limited license, the existing restrictions and the Board's limited period remain operative; renewal alone does not convert it to full licensure.
- Waivers
- Advance hardship waiver may be granted by the Board; active-duty military service qualifies for statutory continuing education waivers or partial waivers under § 67-9416(5).

Limited licensure under military endorsement scope comparison
- Application
- Use the condensed military application; no application fee or examination may be required under § 67-9406(4), subject to the distinct limited-to-full scope review in subsection (5).
- Lower Ranked Rule
- IDAPA 24.41.01 § 100.02(a) states: "Pass the applicable NAB examination(s) or another examination approved by the Board;". For the condensed military endorsement application, the statutory prohibition governs.
- Military Status
- Member of the military, former member discharged under honorable conditions, veteran, or spouse of such a person.
- Prior License
- Current valid unrestricted licensure in another US state, district or territory, a branch of the armed forces or the National Guard.
- Scope Restriction
- If Idaho scope is broader, the Board may restrict initial practice to the prior authorized scope pending additional qualifications. A later conversion may involve a narrowly tailored examination under § 67-9406(5).
- Verification
- Validate military/spousal status and prior licensure; disclose current, pending and subsequent disciplinary proceedings. Target issuance is within 15 business days after qualifications are validated.

At least one of the following alternatives:
- Application
- Submit supporting materials and standard application, background checks and fees.
- Examination Discretion
- Under § 67-9409(4), the Board may use all or part of its existing application examination to establish competency.
- Nationwide Core Registration
- On the NAB alternative, the Board application requires the NAB Core of Knowledge Examination (Core-only) together with the RC/AL line-of-service examination. CORE is currently offered but has no frozen registered version in the supplied national context; it remains a condition until nationwide registration resolves it. CORE is not required on the Headmaster alternative.
- Prior License
- Current valid unrestricted licensure in another US jurisdiction.
- Scope Restriction
- Board finds Idaho scope broader; initial practice is restricted to the scope authorized by prior licensure pending additional education, training and other qualifications within the limited period set by the Board.
