Submit required application documents and fee; agree to the ASQE Testing Agreement and ASQ Code of Ethics. Approval precedes scheduling with Prometric.

Eligibility
Two years of work experience, OR an associate degree, OR two years of equivalent higher education; the official CQIA page specifies full-time, paid work for the experience qualification.
Examination
Pass the one-part CQIA examination under the currently adopted 2020 CQIA BoK; the certification requirement is not a state licensing adoption.

One-part, English-language, open-book multiple-choice examination delivered by computer; paper delivery is another format of the same CQIA examination.

Total questions: 110; Scored questions: 100; Unscored questions: 10; The total includes the scored and unscored questions.
Time limit
CBT exam time: 3 hours 18 minutes; total appointment: 3 hours 30 minutes.
Passing score
Passing exam score: 550 (scaled score; not a raw percentage).
Exam fee
Initial examination: USD 434; ASQ members save USD 100 on the initial examination fee.
