Each license and applicant pathway has its own requirements and exemptions. Choosing practice questions does not determine your eligibility.

Adobe Certified Professional in Graphic Design & Illustration Using Adobe Illustrator

An application-specific professional certification validating Illustrator proficiency and foundational digital media knowledge, awarded with a certificate and digital badge after passing its examination; individual certification currency is three years.

Licensing authority: Adobe

Initial by examination
Assessment
Pass the single examination, including selected-response questions and live-in-Illustrator tasks; do not split it into two exams.
Availability
The three-calendar-month cutoff is 2027-01-28. The stricter requested exclusion is retirement before 2027-03-01. Current official retirement guidance says 2026 exams continue to remain available; no specific retirement boundary for this version was found, so validThrough remains null. Neither credential currency nor voucher/promotion deadlines establish exam retirement.
Candidate Rules
Photo/signature identification is required at a CATC; candidates under 18 need signed parental consent, and all candidates must accept the NDA and presented terms. Allow administrative time in addition to the 50-minute timed exam.
Preparation
Approximately 150 hours of instruction and hands-on Illustrator experience is the target-candidate expectation/recommendation; no Bachelor's degree or separate mandatory training course is required beyond the objective-domain expectations. Ages 14 and up are recommended, not a stated universal minimum.
Registration
Use a Certiport test-candidate account and arrange the actual version and seat with a Certiport Authorized Testing Center. The current 2026 en-us catalogue lists Compass for Windows and Compass for Mac. General program OnVUE/online guidance is not proof that this exact 2026 offering is delivered online. No specific seat or requested future appointment is guaranteed.
Scope
Initial certification using the currently released English 2026 Illustrator offering only; older software offerings and aggregate two-application specialty awards are outside this task.
